The casualty figure from the Ngurosoye village bomb blasts on Thursday has over the weekend risen to 32 deaths, hospital sources and local government officials said.
PREMIUM TIMES had earlier reported quoting official figures that 16 persons died during the blast on the rural market in Borno state last Thursday.
But hospital sources and local government officials in Bama town during the weekend updated the actual death casualty to 29 while three others with serious injuries also died on hospital bed.
The hospital sources also revealed that about seven other injured persons were referred to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hosptial for better medical attention.
The military, on a serious operation around the Sambisa forest areas, also ordered the shutdown of all mobile phone lines all through Sunday. The lines were yet to be restored as at 10 p.m when this report was filed.
