The U.S. Embassy in Abuja is seeking to employ a suitable and qualified
candidate for the positions of :
Position Title: Administrative Clerk – FSN-06/FP-09
Location: Abuja
Basic Function of the Position:
The incumbent provides administrative support to the Facility Manager
(FM), NEC / NCC's Engineers and designated Maintenance Supervisors, and
acts as the Customer Service Representative on Residential needs. The
Administrative clerk reports directly to the Administrative Assistant
and helps relieve the Facility Manager of operations and administrative
details through the exercise of administrative planning and coordination
of personnel, facility and equipment resources assigned to the
Facilities Management Office.
Position Requirements:
NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed

- Completion of Secondary School is required.
- Minimum of two years' experience working as an administrative
assistant or within an office environment that provides a customer
related service and environment is required. - Level III (good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in
English is required. Level IV (fluency) speaking/writing in a local
language is required. - Demonstrable ability to handle a large workload and multiple tasks is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word packages is required.
Selection Process
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and
U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the
candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the

- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.

Position Title: Trades Helper – FSN-03/FP-BB
Location: Abuja
Basic Function of the Position:
Incumbent works with all tradesmen as a helper and will follow
directions given by tradesmen with whom s/he will be working. The
incumbent assists tradesmen with the performance of skilled trades
maintenance and repair work, which may include painting, carpentry,
minor grounds work and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed
below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each
criterion or the application will not be considered.
- Completion of Primary school is required. Basic training in one of the building maintenance trades is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in one or more building
maintenance trades: Electrician, Plumber, Mason, A/C Technician,
Carpenter or Painter is required. - Level I (basic) Speaking/Writing in English is required.
- Ability to differentiate hand tools is required.
- Understanding of safe working practices is required.
- A valid Nigerian driver's license is required.
