Agbim Sad Over Ghana Defeat

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Chigozie Agbim looked down cast and frustrated after his side failed to go past Black Stars of Ghana in the grueling semi final clash on Wednesday.

Agbim who posted slight improvement in successive games during the competition, said he could not believe Ghana eventually won the game.

"We came here determined to make Nigeria proud by lifting the trophy. We had a good game and were clearly better than Ghana but it was sad we could not translate our superior play into goals", the Enugu Rangers goaltender lamented.

"Football is funny, full of surprises and we've seen one today and when a game drags into penalty kicks, it becomes anybody's game.

"Ghana have had the last laugh today, I congratulate them but I commend my teammates because they have shown the team has character", Agbim said.
