–Sunshine star says CHAN tourney is a good lesson for Nigeria
Sunshine Stars ace Ikenna Gabriel has put the disappointment of the 2014 CHAN behind and instead focusing on the World Cup finals in Brazil in the summer.
"Super Eagles have taken football to another level", the home based Eagles star told Complete Sports at the team's President Hotel, Naval Villa, Bloemfontein Thursday.
"So you'll see a brand new Super Eagles at the World Cup", he added.
Forced to reflect on the team's CHAN ouster in the hands of Ghana, Gabriel said it's important they take something home for Nigerians.
"Nigerians love trophies and we are not happy not winning the cup for them but we have to make sure we won the third place match so as to give them the bronze medal.
"When we were coming from Abuja, we set a target for ourselves to bring home the CHAN cup but as fate would have it, we're unable to do that but I think we should compensate them with the bronze which is why we must go all out to beat Zimbabwe on Saturday", he Said.
