My Take On The National Conference (CONFAB)

Permit me to start with Isaiah 3 vs 10 which says… Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions. Here comes a question, what happens to the un righteous?

The daily operations of federal government does not suggest they want any positive change or visible progress at any sector or any form in the entire country, our leaders are satisfied and comfortably contended with the bad situation of things that we all witness, since nobody is questioning them.

The idea of national confab is beautiful and great but the fundamental issues that calls for urgent and immediate response are not attended to. If we can't tackle corruption to the barest minimum, insecurities and unemployment and lots more, then what good are the leaders capable of doing?
At different stadiums all over Nigeria, few days back, some youth died and some are receiving treatments in the hospitals in trying to secure jobs with immigration while N112,000 is organised and already made available per day for the national confab's delegates…
And this extravagant spending will last for 3 months, while millions of capable and able youth are hunting for jobs ceaselessly. The impunity with which the government is operating tells us what will come out of the 2014 national confab.

Some people as usual will ask questions like, Is Nigeria a country of the saints? Yes, we are not saints, but should people of questionable characters be part of the delegates? I wonder what the likes of Olabode George, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha will contribute. "We can't right a wrong by doing the wrong thing"
so many things have turned me to a brutal realist, different from countless optimist that dream everyday and night. We are so forgiving and forgetful…Yes,the holy book talks about forgiveness and the holy book as well talks about wisdom(Wisdom is profitable to direct). If Mr President could grant his cronies that should rot in jail presidential pardon, then should Nigerians expect something beneficial from them?

When there's no law, even when the whole society support and talk the talk, the outcome will still go to the National assembly where they'll butcher, slim fit, and politely edit the supposed outcome to their taste and interests. We've witnessed and heard of so many conferences held in the past, the outcome and the effects.

Here comes some questions bothering me…
What happens to the amendment the Constitution by National Assembly?

Should the outcome of national conference 2014 be supplied to suggestions again or debate again?

What's the place and role of the legislators?

I wish to conclude the sermon by suggesting the only known solution to the ugly situation in our country; The primary duty of the National Conference is to address and find solutions to the key problems afflicting Nigeria, and we all know the major problem facing this country, which is "leadership at all sectors" Then how do we solve it? Nigerians should perform their civic right come 2015, we should consider personality more and less of party. Change will only come when we have better leaders. God Bless Nigeria
